This shellfish is related to the carpet shell but comes from Italian waters. This oval and flattened shellfish is about five centimeters in size. The color of the shell varies from white to black and from gray to yellow. It is often slightly whiter than the carpet shell. Vongole Veraci is famous for 'Spaghetti Vongole'. The product is salty and sweet with a juicy bite. This shellfish is very delicious in spaghetti and other pasta dishes, as well as in soups. After 2 minutes of stir-frying, boiling, or baking, the shell opens.
